Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines the specific terms and conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations during the rental period. In the event of a discrepancy between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- Drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. A valid full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of current address. Payment information and a security deposit are also necessary, along with any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Bridlington office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely using trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection in Bridlington, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document its state. Please return the vehicle in the same condition it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges may apply accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as when you collected it; otherwise, refueling fees will be charged. Late returns could result in additional fees, so please inform us promptly if you anticipate returning the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental, along with a small administration fee.
5. Insurance and Responsibility

Additional insurance options may be offered to help minimize your financial risk. It is wise to review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, except where additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses for your rental:
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose, and all passenger and weight limits must be adhered to. Operating the vehicle outside the specified geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Bridlington is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Regulations
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in this region.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
